What is Postini?

Postini enables Email Service Providers (i.e. EagleNet) to improve users' email experience with Virus Scans and Junik Mail Filtering.

How do I adjust my filters?

Go to http://login.postini.com/exec/login Once you have logged in, click on the "Junk Mail" tab. Click on "filter Categories" and check the boxes you wish to filter. Click save. After returning to the message center, click on "Filter Sensitivity." Here you can decide how aggressive Postini will be in filtering your email. Click save when finished. You may also click on "Approved Senders" or "Blocked Senders" to use filtering on an individual basis.

How can I turn the filters off?

Login to your messange center and then click on the "Junk Mail" tab. Click the "OFF" button to turn the filters off.

Is Postini Virus Scan up-to-date?

Yes. Postini has preferential access to Trend Micro, a leading provider of anti-virus solutions with over 53% of gateway-scanning market share, and their pattern files so Postini is updated every 15 minutes for new virus definitions and files.

How does Postini notify users that virus-infected emails have been detected? 

Postini notifies users immediately via emails when an infected virus is detected in an email message. From the users personal Messanger Center, end users can safely review the infected email text, and then have the options to repair, deliver, or delete that email and any attachments.

Does Postini Virus Scan replace my desktop virus protection software? 

No. Postini Virus Scan protects users from virus via incoming emails but viruses can also come from Internet downloads, files from personal diskettes, or CDs, etc...

What should I do with SPAM if it gets past Postini's filters?

You can your adjust your filters to be more sensitive, but you can also help Postini keep its SPAM filtering up-to-date. Before you delete the message you can forward the message to Spam@Postini.com so that the message an be referenced in Postini's junk email database for future use.

Do I have to enable cookies?

Yes. The purpose of cookies is to enable you as a unique Postini services user and prepare web pages that reflect your perseonalized Postini applications. Postini does not track personal information in its cookies or violate your privacy.
